Outdoor Education Spring Teachers and Summer Counselors (2023)

Spring Programs Teachers

Webb Mountain Discovery Zone, an outdoor learning center in Monroe, Connecticut, is looking for assistance with our outdoor preschool and school-age afterschool enrichment programs this spring. Classes are offered Mondays-Saturdays in the mornings and afternoons. The ideal candidate would also be available for consideration as a summer counselor as well. Additional earning opportunities include periodic theme-based weekend birthday parties. This is a super fun job!

Local college and high school students with an interest in environmental education or early childhood education who have a love for the outdoors, nature and children are welcome to apply. Flexible scheduling is offered to fit everyone's schedules and ensure program coverage. Classes involve reading stories, making crafts, and a walk though our extensive trail system following a designated lesson plan to teach key concepts along the way.

Summer Program Counselors

Candidates should have a strong track record of engaging interaction with children, either in a group or one-one setting, and must provide references.  Previous camp experience is not required and local students in high school through college are encouraged to apply (younger high school students may need to volunteer initially).  We are looking for individuals who are responsible, caring, and FUN!  We pack in A LOT of activity in three hours and there is little down time during the half day for our counselors. Only candidates looking for a fast-paced program with high energy should apply.
